Caloundra longboard surfers club

Comp Day – Sunday 13 November

This Sunday 13 November is the final comp day of the year. It’s the final chance to collect points for the various championships.

Following the comp, the annual presentation of trophies and awards will take place.

The long-range weather forecast for Sunday is okay: small surf with a northerly sea breeze. These conditions point to Happies being the best location, but the committee is favouring a quieter location, possibly Ann St Currimundi, where this year’s Fun in the Sun was held.

For those not familiar with the area, the beach is at the end of Buderim St, the street beside the Currimundi State and Special schools. The location will be chosen later in the week.

El Presso Greg has organised highly qualified surf coach, Grant Thomas and Level 1 coach Sam Poncini to attend and run some clinics for all members with special attention to the groms and juniors. These free clinics are part of a Surfing Qld grant to the clubs and are a great opportunity to learn new skills.

The program for the day is :-

7am Divisional championship heats will start.

Hopefully another two rounds of the Club championship will be surfed.

The usual breakfast of bacon and eggs, drinks, tea and coffee will be available during the morning. The new BBQ is proving so popular a roster of cooks will have to be organised.

Once that is all completed it’s on with the presso and lunch. Lunch, soft drinks, light beer and wine will be all provided by the club free.

Please bring along your chairs.
