Hi Fellow Surfers,
Caloundra Malibu Club’s “Fun in the Sun” team challenge is on again for 2018.
After 17 years, the date, team composition and format has changed.
We have bought forward the date, hopefully a better weather and surf window.
The teams have been changed from 5 to 4 surfers. The composition of the team has also changed allowing more flexibility in forming teams.
The heat time has increased from 50 min – 65 min.
The max number of waves has increased from 3 – 5. Allowing more waves and more surfing time in the water.
Added another final. A B C Finals. Top 12 teams surf in finals
Max number of teams = 18.
Date :- Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July.
Teams :- 4 x surfer teams. 3 x Open (any age M or F) 1 x O55 or Female or U18 Junior
Boards :- Any 9’ and over. performance, logger or old mal.
Format :- 65 min heats. Max 5 waves. Best 2 score. 1x double points wave per team.
Competition :- 3 x rounds. Saturday – rounds 1 and 2. Sunday – round 3. A B C finals. Presentation.
We hope the new time slot and format suits everybody.
Please let me know ASAP if you will be nominating teams and I’ll save you a spot in the draw. Team names and surfer’s names can follow at a later date.
